Safetykleen UK & Ireland is proud to announce the renewal of its fleet of tankers, trucks and vans.
A familiar sight on the roads, Safetykleen’s emblematic yellow vans and trucks have gone through an important upgrade. As the range of machines being launched to service new applications increases, the fleet needs to meet the requirements for delivery, installation and the full Safetykleen servicing & maintenance of these new machines.
In total, no less than 127 brand new vehicles that will be delivered to Safetykleen and put in circulation to service its customers. The fleet ranges from Daf XF tractors through to 18t and 15t rigids, Iveco Daily 7.2t and 3.5t vans.
The first batch of replacement vehicles, including six Daf XF460FTG 6x2 tractors (each fitted with a Space Cab, automated gearbox and Gardner Denver Hydropack and Firescreen), was delivered as early as September 2016 while the fleet replacement is scheduled for completion in early 2017.
To take over the fleet management and maintenance of the new vehicles Safetykleen elected to work with Ryder after a detailed tender process. In order to maximise Safetykleen’s vehicle uptime, Ryder conducted a thorough review of its suppliers’ locations and capabilities, focusing on key areas including out-of-hours servicing, warranty repairs and breakdown support. As a result, Ryder is maintaining the vehicles either overnight or at weekends nationwide to agreed high standards, via a mixture of Ryder owned and operated sites and approved maintenance partners.
, Group Purchasing Director of Safetykleen, says: “The tender and negotiation process with Ryder helped us to review exactly what service we required. It became clear that our key requirement was to have our vehicles on the road with as little downtime as possible in order to service our customers. There was added value with Ryder in that we were able to review our fleet specification and ensure it was fit for purpose.”
"This new fleet of vehicles will further strengthened Safetykleen’s ability and flexibility to service and meet its customer’s needs."
